Energy Audits

Understanding how energy is used, and wasted, throughout your business facility is the first step in a whole-building approach to reducing energy consumption and also energy costs. The Energy Audit incentive will provide funding for an industry standard, ASHRAE Level 2 audit or equivalent. There is also a bonus for conservation measures identified and implemented within the first two years after the audit is completed.

An ASHRAE Level 3 audit is typically performed after an ASHRAE Level 2 audit and is intended to provide a more detailed analysis of a focused mechanical system or piece of equipment, such as the chiller system. Hawai‘i Energy provides an incentive to support this industry standard, ASHRAE Level 3 study or equivalent. There is also a bonus for conservation measures identified and implemented within the first two years after the audit is completed.

Hawai‘i Energy requires pre-approval for ASHRAE Level 2 & 3 audits before they are underway.
