We Pick Up, We Recycle, You Get Paid!
Rid-a-Fridge makes it easy for residential electric customers to surrender old, working refrigerators and freezers. We will pick up and recycle old, working units for free and pay you a reward:
- Residents of Oahu and Hawaii island will receive $50.
- Residents of Maui will receive $65.

How to Get Started
Step 1: Retrieve information from your old working 14 cubic feet (or larger) refrigerator or freezer - make, model, serial number, approximate age and size.
Step 2: Call to schedule for a free pick-up. On Oahu, call 537-5577. On Maui, call toll-free 1-877-231-8222. Hawaii island residents, schedule a pick up with a local hauler of your choice.
Step 3: Oahu and Maui island, complete and send in application provided by the hauler during the pick-up. Hawaii island residents print, complete and send the application provided on this website. The application must be postmarked within sixty (60) days of the pick-up. Your rebate will be mailed to you within 6-8 weeks.
Rid-A-Fridge is a residential rebate offered while funding lasts. Rewards are available on a first-come, first-served basis to electric utility account holders, with a limit of one refrigerator and one freezer per household. The appliances must be full size (at least 14 cubic feet) and currently in use to qualify. Call us for more information. Some restrictions may apply.
