Hawaii Energy Promotes Mireya Norman to Deputy Director
Honolulu, Hawaii – Hawaii Energy the state’s Public Benefits Fund administrator that focuses on energy-efficiency education and clean-energy initiatives, announced today the promotion of Mireya Norman to deputy director. In her role, Norman will oversee the day-to-day activities, budget, finance, information technology, and risk management for Hawaii Energy.
“With more than 20 years of experience as an analyst and manager, I am confident in Mireya’s ability to lead as our organization continues to grow and adapt to the needs of Hawaii residents and businesses,” said Caroline Carol, executive director of Hawaii Energy. “Mireya has been an invaluable asset to our team over the past nine years and we are pleased to promote her into this key leadership role.”
Norman joined Hawaii Energy in 2013 as a budget and financial analyst where she developed and maintained the program’s financial forecast to plan operational needs. In 2016, she was promoted to program support services manager where she developed and maintained internal and external program financial forecasts to manage operational needs. Prior to Hawaii Energy, Norman has held positions at Leidos, Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems and Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems in San Diego, California.
Norman received her Master of Advanced Studies, International Affairs from the University of California at San Diego and her Bachelor of Arts in Economics / International Area Studies from the University of California at Los Angeles. She is a board member at the YMCA of Honolulu and serves on the Leidos Civil Group Emerging Leaders Program Planning Committee.
