Building Envelope

Making energy-efficient changes to the exterior of your building can reduce your energy consumption and save you money on your electric bill.

Cool Roof

A cool roof is designed to reflect more sunlight and absorb less heat than a standard roof. It achieves this by using special materials, coatings, or reflective colors that help keep the building cooler. By reducing the amount of heat that enters the building, a cool roof lowers cooling costs, improves indoor comfort, and decreases strain on air conditioning systems. They can also extend the life of a roof by minimizing heat-related wear and damage.

Window Film

Window film helps to reduce cooling costs in a building by reducing the amount of solar heat entering through windows. Manufacturers make a variety of films for all types of glass. In order to qualify for the rebate, the type of film selected must meet specific criteria for solar heat gain and shading coefficients. Rebates are not available for shaded or north-facing windows.

Custom Projects

The windows, door openings, and seals of your building directly impact energy use, and if the envelope is “leaky”, you’re spending additional energy and money to air condition the property. If you’re planning on addressing these issues, your project may qualify for Hawaii Energy rebates.
