Residential Energy Champion: Rosalinde Ranne
During the pandemic, accelerated rebates for residents helped to alleviate up front cost for energy-efficient home appliances. Rosalind Ranne of Hilo received a $250 rebate through the Refrigerator Trade-Up program which helped her upgrade to a much-needed, new ENERGY STAR® energy-efficient fridge
She said, “I am a retired Senior Citizen on a small fixed income. My old refrigerator finally gave out on me, and I had to buy a new one. I remembered our good family friend Graceson told me about the ENERGY STAR rebate and turning in your old fridge. He was so helpful and knowledgeable. I went to our local Home Depot bought a new refrigerator. The delivery person stamped my card. It was so easy and such a Blessing. I am an old lady and get confused on what to do about these things and the nice representative Graceson helped me through the process. It didn’t take long and my rebate check was in the mail. Thank you again.”
